RN Unit Manager
SHIFT : Full-Time, Days
Annual Salary : $68,250 - $72,800 (depending on experience)
JOB DESCRIPTION :
The Unit Manager oversees our subacute and long-term care units, assesses residents, and supports / directs staff as needed. Unit managers are responsible for managing the nursing unit. They primarily supervise the daily care of patients and ensure quality patient care.
RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Demonstrates knowledge of age specific developmental factors specific to the adult and geriatric population in the planning and delivery of care
- Demonstrates knowledge, skills and techniques necessary to care for residents with the following needs : therapeutic, neuro and dementia, dialysis, IV therapy, infectious disease, wound care, end of life care, if applicable
- Assures completion of a comprehensive nursing evaluation of a resident’s physical, emotional and mental status upon admission / re-admission and when indicated, as well as, appropriate follow-up as indicated by the evaluation.
- Acting as the main point of contact between residents and their families
- Addressing and preventing concerns from family members
- Assists in developing, implementing, and making adjustments to patient care plans as needed
- Supervises the staff nurses, nursing rehab assistants, certified nursing assistants, unit clerks (if applicable), and completes annual and probationary evaluations of same
- Ensures their unit meets federal and state regulatory standards, as well as company policies and procedures
- Collaborates with the Director of Nursing, Nurse Practitioners, and Physicians to plan and maintain resident care
- Completes admission and discharge assessments
- Oversees and audits changes made to care plans
- Delivers hands-on care and medicine distribution as needed
REQUIREMENTS :
Valid NYS Registered Nursing License or LPN LicenseMinimum : 1-year experience as an RN or LPN in a long-term care settingPreferred : 3-5 years as an RN or LPN in a long-term care setting with supervisory experienceEducation : Minimum : Associates Degree Preferred : Bachelor DegreeREQUIRED SKILLS & ABILITIES :

Provides direction to visitors, staff, volunteers and external populations
