As a Lead Systems / Process Engineer, you will participate in development and production programs integral to X-Bow's success. This position will support and shepherd the design, development, test, and operation of energetic manufacturing systems. Typical responsibilities for this position include :
Embed yourself into design and development activities; understand system P&IDs and work with Engineering Leads to support document creation
Be able to translate P&IDs and lead document creation for system standard operating procedures (SOPs), all required safety documentations, system maintenance, equipment design, equipment installation and operation, etc.Develop and manage verification activities during construction phase; inspect construction, and installation of equipment. Write, manage, review, test and analysis reports as it pertains to the system and its requirements.Coordinate between technical disciplines (mechanical, electrical, software, etc.) to identify and resolve technical issues and risks as well as identify, capture, and implement opportunities.Maintain configurations of development and test designs. Aid in system testing and commissioning of system. System signoff and proper system documentation.Plan and execute technical reviews (PDR, CDR, etc.); coordinate with stakeholders, develop entry / exit criteria, own and manage review content.Support and manage assembly, test, and operations of energetic manufacturing systems. Write and carry out assembly and operational work instructions.Provide leadership to other team members as needed to ensure that design, construction, commissioning, and start-up operations proceed safely, effectively, and on-time. This requirement will include identification, delegation, and review of various engineering tasks to the balance of the engineering team.Provide guidance and counsel to engineering and program management leadership.Provide guidance and continuing support to operations staff to un-block issues and allow the manufacturing facilities to maintain operational status.Other Process Engineering and Systems Engineering activities as required for the Program you are supporting.Program Management SupportProvide risk management support.
Provide configuration management and data management support.Provide inputs to Integrated Master Schedule.Provide documentation development and management for the team.Other Program SupportCoordinate and run IPTs, TIMs, etc. with leadership, teammates, subcontractors, and customers.

X-Bow is interested in motivated individuals with excellent communication and technical writing skills, proficient in MS Office and common engineering applications. In addition, candidates should have the following :
Experience developing P&IDs, process designs, and equipment designs.Experience translating design documents into operating procedures, safety documentation, mechanical and system maintenance plans.Hands-on experience with hardware and / or hardware control systems, ideally chemical manufacturing hardware like pumps, piping, environmental sensors, mixers, reactors, heat transfer equipment (chillers / heaters), hoses, etc. Ability to inspect systems to verify construction is consistent with design. Ability to provide quality control management over construction.Familiarity with selection of equipment for proper materials of construction.Experience leading or supporting major program milestone reviews or stage gates.5+ years of experience as chemical engineer, process engineer, mechanical engineer, or systems engineers supporting design and development efforts with an emphasis on system document creation and system quality assurance and punch listing system constructions.Candidates with the following are preferred :
Experience designing, assembling, testing parts and components, specifically related to chemical or energetic manufacturing products.Experience with P&ID creation.Experience with systems quality control standards (ISO, ASME, API, etc). and system V&V (Verification & Validation)Experience with risk analysis tools (HAZOP, PHA, FMEA, PSM)Experience designing and troubleshooting equipmentExperience with Model-Based Systems Engineering tools such as Cameo.Experience with digital collaboration and management tools such as Confluence and Jira.Experience with process modeling and an ability to understand process models and translate these into effective plant designs and equipment.Desired Experience
5+ years of experience in a related field is desired. Experience with chemical plant operations and system design. Experience with solid rocket motor and / or propellant manufacturing is a plus.
Education
Bachelor's Degree or higher in Mechanical / Chemical Engineering or equivalent.
Location Requirements
Primary work will be performed in Luling, TX. Willingness to travel up to 25%.
