As the Senior Plastics Engineer, this person will assist in the upfront project quoting and will be responsible for the eventual development and maintenance of a robust injection molding process.
Essential Job Functions
Processing, validation and recording of new products, molds, processes, or equipment
Assisting with tool and part quoting process
Optimizing processes
Continual process improvement efforts via material, process, tooling, and automation enhancements
Assist with daily production and troubleshooting established processes
Identifying and implementing cost reduction opportunities
Perform DOE’s as required
Requirements
B.S. in Plastics Engineering preferred
Minimum of five years of hands injection molding
Familiar with and capable of using Scientific Molding techniques to develop robust processes
Familiar with process validation via the IQ / OQ / PQ validation system
Understanding of, or willingness to learn, automotive requirements including PPAP, PFMEA, and APQP
Familiar with automation associated with injection molding
Understanding of Quality / SPC systems and requirements
Ability to manage projects from inception to production
Ability to work harmoniously with co-workers and others
RJG experience a plus
Familiarity with secondary operations (welding, decorating, machining)
