American Traveler is hiring a Labor & Delivery RN with 4 years of experience, AZ or compact RN license, and advanced certifications for a Level 1 Trauma Center.
\n \n Responsibilities\n
Work in a hospital Labor and Delivery unit within an acute care settingUnit includes 18 LDRPs, 14 OB triage beds, 8 Antepartum beds, and 2 fully equipped C-section OR suitesHandles laboring, preterm, and antepartum patients, averaging 8-10 deliveries per dayNurse-to-patient ratios generally align with AWHONN guidelines : usually 2 : 1, 4 : 1 in antepartum, and 1 : 1 for C-sections, adjusted for acuityNight shifts, 12 hours (1900-0700), including 4 weekend shifts per scheduleRequires floating to mother-baby / postpartum unit as neededEMR system : Cerner; EFM system : Fetal LinkC-section circulation and recovery required; scrub not requiredResponsible for labor, delivery, antepartum, OB triage, and C-section patient care including circulation and recoveryRequired to work 2 out of 3 major holidays during the contractOB hospitalist, anesthesia, respiratory therapy, and pharmacy support available 24 / 7RT and IV team support available as neededMandatory pass / fail simulation lab and sterile technique assessment during orientationBlue scrubs required; provided by the facilityLevel II EQ, caring for gestations 28 weeks or greaterReturning employees must not have worked for the affiliated health system within the past yearMinimum 50-mile permanent residence radius required for AZ candidates\n \n Requirements\n
Active AZ or Compact RN license required at time of considerationMinimum 4 years current Labor & Delivery RN experience requiredCertifications required : BLS, ACLS, NRPExperience handling C-sections and titrating drips such as Pitocin and Magnesium SulfateMust have computer charting experience, Cerner experience preferredMust pass a dysrhythmia exam (max 2 attempts, 80% passing) prior to offerCopy of driver’s license is required for considerationTwo references : one supervisor from the past 12 months and one peer or supervisor from the past 3 years\n Benefits\n
