Part-Time Real Time Crime Center Analyst

Under limited supervision, the Part-Time Real Time Crime Center (RTCC) Analyst provides real-time analytical and operational support to law enforcement personnel by monitoring and evaluating information from various surveillance and public safety platforms. This position enhances situational awareness, public safety response, and officer effectiveness by delivering actionable intelligence during ongoing incidents and criminal investigations. Reports to the RTCC Supervisor or the Support Services Section Commander. This is a part-time hourly position with no benefits. This is a part-time position. 28 hours maximum per week.

Major Duties

• Monitor real-time camera feeds and integrated platforms through FUSUS.
• Analyze data from LPR systems including Flock and Axon, as well as body-worn cameras and gunshot detection systems to identify suspicious or criminal activity.
• Assist officers and investigators by retrieving video evidence and supporting data relevant to ongoing or prior incidents.
• Use CAD, RMS, and open-source intelligence tools to generate investigative leads or officer safety information.
• Communicate time-sensitive updates and situational alerts to patrol and investigative personnel during live incidents.
• Maintain detailed logs and records of RTCC activities and notable events during assigned shifts.
• Generate reports, bulletins, and summaries to support criminal investigations and trend analysis.
• Support multi-agency coordination and partnerships through data sharing and RTCC-related initiatives.
• Participate in special projects or event monitoring as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

Knowledge Required by the Position

Supervisory Controls : Work is assigned by the RTCC Supervisor or the Support Services Section Commander in terms of departmental objectives. Work is reviewed through reports, feedback, and overall effectiveness.

Guidelines : Guidelines include department policies, public safety regulations, privacy laws, and standard operating procedures for surveillance and intelligence work.

Complexity : This position involves interpreting and synthesizing live data from multiple sources under time-sensitive conditions. The ability to prioritize, coordinate with field units, and make accurate real-time assessments is critical.

Scope and Effect : The work supports operational law enforcement effectiveness by enhancing officer awareness, supporting investigations, and contributing to crime prevention. Effective performance contributes to overall public safety.

Personal Contacts : Contacts include sworn officers, civilian staff, dispatchers, external law enforcement partners, and occasionally members of the public.

Purpose of Contacts : To exchange information, provide situational updates, assist in investigations, and support coordinated law enforcement responses.

Physical Demands : Work is primarily sedentary, requiring long periods of viewing monitors and data input. May require some light lifting of equipment or files.

Work Environment : Work is performed in a secure operations center. Requires alertness, confidentiality, and the ability to work during critical incidents or extended hours as needed.

Supervisory and Management Responsibility : This position does not supervise others.
