Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an Emergency Department position with a focus in behavioral health and strong Level I trauma background required.
Responsibilities
Work in the Emergency Department with a primary assignment to behavioral healthLevel 1 Trauma Center, Stroke Center, Heart Center, and Pediatric Emergency Department settingNight shift, 3x12 hours (19 : 00–7 : 30)Required to work three weekends (Friday–Sunday) per four-week schedule, could be scheduled for 1–3 days each weekendHigh patient ratios, typically 1 : 5–6 but may be up to 1 : 8 during peak times and holidaysNo on-call responsibilitiesFloating required, including possible assignment to PediatricsUses EPIC for charting; prior EPIC experience preferredWill be primarily assigned to behavioral health patients in the Emergency DepartmentFirst-time travelers are acceptedLocals accepted at the same rate for one contractA maximum of five days requested time off (RTO) allowed per assignment, must be submitted at applicationTraveler may request one major holiday off; must work two out of three major holidays (Thanksgiving / Day after, Christmas Eve / Christmas Day, New Year's Eve / New Year's Day)Must acknowledge and be comfortable with high patient ratiosReturning staff must wait 12 months after employment before being eligible to returnOrientation and EPIC training providedRequirements
Active Michigan RN license in hand by start date (compact license not accepted)Certifications required : ACLS, BLS (AHA), PALS, TNCC, ENPC, and NIHSS, all current and non-pending at startMinimum 1.5 years recent Level I trauma ER experience (2 years preferred)Experience with interpretation and management of dysrhythmiasProof of high school education requiredExperience with procedural and continuous IV sedation, and triage preferredExperience with EPIC charting system preferredBenefits
