Summary
The Web Content Specialist, under the direction of the Manager of Web Content, creates, reviews, edits, and assists in producing web content that supports and increases efforts to fulfill the mission of the Office of Marketing and Communications and the university. Projects also include developing, deploying, and analyzing web-based marketing solutions for the university and campus partners.

Duties & Responsibilities
Assists Manager of Web Content in carrying out the web content strategyUpholds East Texas A&M’s brand guidelines for web writingEdits, publishes, and maintains WordPress webpages for accuracy and adherence to brand guidelinesCommunicates directly with stakeholders to develop, update and revise contentEducates stakeholders on the website maintenance process and brand guidelinesWrites effective calls-to-action to convert visitorsWrites effective SEO content for blogs, websites and social media accountsReviews and revises contentIdentifies powerful keywords to drive the most valuable trafficAnalyzes keywords and SEO techniques used by competitorsCompiles and presents SEO guidelinesDevelops link-building strategiesResearches and reports on best practices for web publicationsFosters relationships with campus partners and key persons to create relevant and accurate marketing collateralMinimum Requirements
Education : Bachelor’s degree in applicable field or equivalent combination of education and experienceExperience : Prior experience in web content writing, marketing and / or content editing. Prior experience working in a university setting with educational professionals.Knowledge : Knowledge of Associated Press, Chicago Manual of Style or similar style guides. Knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet and database programs.Skills : Excellent verbal and written communication skills with strong organizational, time management, and analytical skillsAbility to :Think creatively and strategically, and identify and resolve problemsMultitask and work cooperatively with othersPresent information clearly and conciselyWork within a project management systemLicensing / Professional Certifications : NonePhysical Requirements : NoneOther Requirements : NonePreferred Education / Skills / Experience
