Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) - Pediatric Care. Penn Home Health Care

Duties

Provide personal care and related services in the home under the direction, instruction, and supervision of the staff nurse and the Director of Nursing.

Job Conditions

Must be able to drive and access patients' homes, which may not be routinely wheelchair accessible.

Must have sufficient hearing, eyesight, and physical dexterity to perform a physical assessment of the patient's condition and provide patient care.

Occasionally required to bend, stoop, reach, and move patient weights up to 250 lbs.

Qualifications

Preferably a high school diploma or equivalent.

Successful completion of one of the following :

A minimum of 75 hours of training meeting the requirements of 42 CFR 484.36, or

The nurse aide certification and training program sponsored by the PA Department of Education.

Must be free from health problems that could be injurious to the patient, self, or co-workers and must present appropriate evidence to substantiate this.

Must understand the basics of personal care, housekeeping, and meal preparation.

Must comprehend and respect patient privacy, ethics, and confidentiality of care.

Must have a complete criminal background check.

Must have a current CPR certification (online certification not accepted).
