Overview
Sr. Software Engineering Manager to develop and guide a team of engineers within the PlayStation Monetization / Commerce space. This system delights and engages users across PlayStation platforms, including PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 consoles, web, mobile, and beyond. You will be responsible for developing a wide engineering organization, creating a productive engineering environment, and elevating your team and capabilities. You will collaborate with business users, product managers, UX designers, and other technical teams across the globe in the execution of Monetization / Commerce objectives.
Responsibilities
- Leading, mentoring, and empowering a growing team of engineers to deliver against strategic business outcomes
- Establishing a strong and inclusive engineering culture
- Assist in the delivery of multiple projects across multiple platforms, helping teams estimate, plan, and slice projects to frequently deliver value to production
- Collaborate across business units and product teams across multiple timezones to execute against the team's vision, strategy, and roadmap
- Act as a change agent, initiating appropriate changes to support continuous business improvement
- Work proactively and independently toward results in large, distributed team environments
Qualifications
Overall experience of at least 10 years in the software development industryAt least 3-5 years of people management experience, with experience managing multiple teams or one larger teamAble to manage, mentor, and empower teams, including other people managersProven leadership skills and a passion for building, maintaining, and deploying both internal business applications and highly available servicesStrong communication, cross-group collaboration, and interpersonal skills. Ability to flex communication style to work with business and non-technical users in addition to engineersAbility to balance priorities across multiple projectsAbility to advise and influence technical discussions and decisionsExperience with agile development practices emphasizing continuous improvementBachelor''s degree or equivalent experienceExperience with Java, Kotlin, or similar technologies, and delivering microservicesPrior experience with one or more of the following technologies or areas is a plus : React, React Native, personalization, advertising tech, machine learning, data scienceBenefits
