ASRC Federal AFSS is a premier provider of systems engineering, software engineering, system integration and project management services for real-time, mission-critical defense systems. We are seeking a Risk Manager to support a NASA contract in Greenbelt, MD. This posting is for upcoming positions.
Responsibilities:
Seeking an experienced Risk Manager to fulfill the following duties:
- Provide Risk Management Support for the upcoming projects.
- Collaborate with project management to identify, record, and mitigate pertinent project risks.
- Establish, design, implement, and maintain a project-specific Risk Management (RM) process integral to achieving mission success.
- Collaborate with originators to craft clear, complete, concise, and actionable risk statements, context statements, and mitigation strategy steps.
- Coordinate with lower-level risk management working groups across the project to ensure risks flow correctly between those working groups and the project level Risk Management Board.
- Prepare for and facilitate, program Risk Management Board meetings.
- Integrate and edit material for various RM reporting presentations.
- Work with experts to establish mitigation steps/burn down approaches that result in reduction in consequences.
- Conduct routine risk working groups to identify risks in a clear and concise manner including justifiable scoring and mitigation steps.
- Conduct routine risk management board meetings to open risks, close risks, and approve changes or updates.
- Assist in scoring risk likelihood and consequence with technical staff based on a project level scorecard to obtain consistent approaches.
- Provide monthly updates to the top risk list and details in the MSR process.
- Additional duties as required.
Requirements
- Thorough understanding of Continuous Risk Management (CRM) and Risk Informed Decision Making (RIDM) IAW NPR and GPR
- Experience in Goddard RM techniques, applying CRM principles/best practices to facilitate a program/project RM process.
- Sufficient knowledge and experience to document a project-specific Risk Management process in a Risk Management Plan, obtain project approval, as well as SMA concurrence.
- Advanced knowledge, and use, of at least one risk repository tool (, spreadsheet, database, COTS product, MIS, TDMS).
- Completion of the NASA SATERN course, ABC’s of Risk Management (Course GSFC-PC-ABC RM) is a strong plus.
- Demonstrate high degree of accuracy, organization, consistent attention to detail and high level of productivity.
- Strong interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills and can work successfully with all levels of technical and project management.
- Strong knowledge of Office 365 suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook) and other NASA systems.
- Individual must be able to report on-site, as needed, to satisfy the job requirements.
- Individual must meet government NAC and citizenship/permanent residency requirements for access to NASA Centers and HQ. Extensive background investigation will be performed as a requirement of the job.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree and five (5) years of related experience or nine (9) years of experience in lieu of a degree.
