Assignment Type : Locum tenens (Travel Nurse Practitioner Contract)

Start Date : January 26, 2026

End Date : April 27, 2026

Duration : 13 weeks

Schedule : Monday – Friday, 7 : 00 AM – 3 : 00 PM (5x8-hour day shifts)

Hours per Week : 40

Estimated Weekly Pay : $5,320 - $5,700

EMR : EPIC

Travel : Full travel covered for this locum tenens nurse practitioner role

Qualifications – Cardiothoracic Surgery Nurse Practitioner

Active Nurse Practitioner license in Virginia or eligibility to obtain (required for Virginia nurse practitioner jobs)

Minimum 1 year of experience in acute care or cardiothoracic surgery settings

Proficiency in endoscopic vein harvesting (EVH), first assist experience, and ability to harvest from the patient’s left side (required)

Experience with standard / open cardiac and thoracic procedures

RNFA / SFA experience preferred

Experience with Da Vinci robotics and endoradial procedures is a plus

Current national certification as a Nurse Practitioner

Key Responsibilities – Acute Care NP in Cardiothoracic Surgery

Deliver advanced practice care for cardiothoracic surgery patients in an acute care hospital setting

First assist in cardiac and thoracic surgical procedures, including CABG and septomyectomies

Perform endoscopic vein harvesting (EVH) using the McKay platform

Collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes

Document patient care and clinical notes using EPIC EMR

Participate in pre-operative and post-operative patient management
