Position Summary

The Accounting Supervisor will lead and coordinate financial and accounting functions within the department, ensuring accurate financial reporting and compliance with organizational and governmental policies. This role requires a strong technical accounting background, leadership capabilities, and the ability to drive process improvements. You will work closely with internal teams and external stakeholders, including DENSO headquarters in Japan.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise and participate in day-to-day accounting operations including A / P, A / R, general ledger, and bank reconciliations.
  • Compile and analyze financial reports for management and regulatory purposes.
  • Communicate and coordinate financial data and project updates with DENSO Japan headquarters.
  • Manage aged balances and resolve discrepancies in accounts receivable and payable.
  • Review and audit financial transactions, journal entries, and month-end / year-end reports.
  • Implement and recommend improvements to financial processes and internal controls, including J-SOX compliance.
  • Provide leadership and oversight to a team of 1-3 accounting staff.
  • Support capital asset management and cash flow forecasting.
  • Liaise with external auditors and provide necessary documentation and analysis.
  • Assist with budget preparation and variance analysis.
  • Support transfer pricing studies and inventory audits, including across subsidiary locations.

Supervisory Responsibilities

  • Directly supervise 1-3 team members.
  • Responsibilities include hiring, training, performance management, and conflict resolution in alignment with company policies.

    • Education & Experience Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree (B.A. / B.S.) in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in financial and managerial accounting.
  • Leadership experience in a supervisory or team lead role.
  • Experience in the automotive industry is preferred.
  • Factory / inventory accounting experience is a plus.
  • Japanese language fluency is a strong plus.

    • Skills & Abilities

  • Strong understanding of accounting standards, cost accounting, and internal controls.
  • Proficiency in accounting software, spreadsheets, and Microsoft Office tools.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • High attention to detail, organizational skills, and a proactive mindset.

  • Standard office environment; quiet noise level.
  • Must be able to sit and use hands for extended periods.
  • Occasionally required to lift up to 10 pounds.
  • Close vision required for working with data and reports.
