Safety Manager

As the Safety Manager, you will lead and support Yancey's safety programs across multiple locations. Reporting directly to the EHS Director, you will be responsible for driving a proactive safety culture, ensuring regulatory compliance, and leading a team of safety professionals.
Major Tasks, Responsibilities, and Key Accountabilities :
- Leadership and Culture : Champion a culture of safety throughout the organization, promoting accountability, engagement, and continuous improvement.
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of safety professionals across various sites.
- Collaborate with operational leaders to integrate safety into daily business practices.
- Program Management : Oversee the implementation and continuous improvement of EHS programs, policies, and procedures.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, DOT, and other applicable federal, state, and local regulations.
- Manage incident investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective actions.
- Develop and monitor safety KPIs, dashboards, and performance metrics.
- Lead risk assessments, job hazard analyses, and site audits.
- Coordinate emergency response planning and training.
- Training and Communication : Design and deliver engaging safety training programs for employees at all levels.
- Communicate safety expectations, performance, and initiatives clearly and effectively.
- Serve as a key liaison between field operations and corporate EHS leadership.
- Continuous Improvement : Identify trends and opportunities for improvement through data analysis and field observations.
- Lead cross-functional safety initiatives and projects.
- Stay current with industry best practices and regulatory changes.
Education / Experience :
The knowledge, skills, and abilities typically acquired through the completion of a bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Science, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.5+ years of progressive safety experience, preferably in industrial, construction, or heavy equipment environments.Prior leadership experience managing safety teams or programs.Required Qualifications / Skills :
Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.Excellent written and verbal communication.Proficiency in safety management systems and Microsoft Office Suite.Ability to travel to multiple sites across Georgia and Mississippi as needed.Preferred Qualifications / Skills :
CSP, CHST, or similar safety certification.OSHA 30-hour or equivalent.Environmental Job Requirements :
Mix of office and field environments.Occasional exposure to outdoor weather, heavy equipment, and operational hazards.Physical : Will require appropriate Personal Protection Equipment to be worn.
Travel : Typically requires travel up to 30% of the time.
