Position Summary :

The Electrical and Instrumentation Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for providing leadership and direction to ensure safe execution of maintenance activities across the plant while adhering to plans and schedules. This role oversees Corrective, Predictive, Preventive, and Condition-Based Maintenance programs, or efforts, in alignment with production and operational goals, ensuring resource availability (crafts, operators, parts, equipment) and regulatory compliance.

The Electrical and Instrumentation Maintenance Supervisor manages both internal teams and third-party contractors, ensuring adherence to Kuraray's Safety, Health, and Environmental (HSE) standards, including OSIP, HASC, ISN, and training / certification requirements. The role also plays a key part in integrating and optimizing SAP, driving continuous improvement in reporting, training, and system utilization to enhance long-term reliability, cost control, and operational competitiveness.

This position combines hands-on technical expertise with leadership responsibilities, including troubleshooting, performance management, team development, and driving a culture of safety and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities :

Leadership & Direction

  • Supervise and lead E&I maintenance technicians to ensure safe, effective, and timely execution of maintenance activities.
  • Communicate local action plans, aligning team objectives with plant goals and broader organizational strategy.
  • Provide coaching, training, and performance feedback to build team capabilities and foster continuous improvement.

Planning & Scheduling

  • Support the planning and scheduling of all maintenance activities, including turnaround (TAR) and transition work, ensuring alignment with business plans and operational needs.
  • Identify potential constraints, deficiencies, or trends that could impact schedules and address them in consultation with Production and Maintenance leadership.
  • Develop short- and long-term maintenance plans and allocate resources effectively, approving overtime or additional support as needed.
  • Maintenance Execution & Technical Support

  • Troubleshoot and diagnose complex equipment and system issues; oversee repairs, replacements, and installations.
  • Perform and review site maintenance activities, ranging from general facility upkeep to complex electrical work.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable codes and standards (ISA, IEC, ISO, ANSI, NFPA) and apply methodologies such as Process Hazard Analysis and Root Cause Analysis.
  • Health, Safety & Environment (HSE)

  • Ensure all maintenance activities comply with regulatory, corporate, and departmental HSE requirements.
  • Instruct teams on safe working methods, monitor behaviors, and take corrective action when risks are identified.
  • Oversee contractor compliance with Kuraray HSE policies, certifications, and procedures.
  • SAP & Continuous Improvement

  • Serve as SAP Super User, ensuring effective integration, training, and reporting.
  • Provide continuous feedback to improve SAP performance and functionality.
  • Develop KPIs, reports, and communication tools to measure and improve maintenance effectiveness.
  • Drive, or recommend, process and quality improvements that enhance reliability, reduce costs, and increase competitiveness.
  • Compliance & Quality

  • Monitor adherence to company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
  • Support planning and coordinate inspections and testing, implement corrective actions, and ensure continuous improvement.
  • Minimum Qualifications :

  • High School Diploma or GED required; Associate Degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years of relevant industrial E&I maintenance experience in a polymer / chemical manufacturing environment.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and long-range planning skills.
  • Proven ability to supervise diverse teams and contractors.
  • Knowledge of plant operations, maintenance processes, and economic measures.
  • Experience with Process Safety Management, Project Management, and compliance with RAGAGEP (e.g., ISA, IEC, ISO, ANSI, and NFPA codes.
  • Proficiency in SAP and experience with maintenance planning / scheduling systems.
  • Strong problem-solving and sound decision-making abilities.
  • Capable of handling multiple responsibilities simultaneously.
  • Candidates must have a valid driver's license.
