Position Purpose : The PreK-2nd Grades Music Specialist Teacher provides a compelling and energized music experience within a positive and collaborative learning environment. This is a long-term substitute position beginning April 6th and continuing through June 10th. We are seeking candidates who have : An undergraduate or graduate degree in Education Music Education preferredEarly childhood / elementary music teaching experience preferredStrong emotional intelligence : warm kind flexible patient sense of humor active listener empathetic confidential. Excellent oral and written communication and organizational skillsKnowledge of an eclectic music education curriculum including Kodály and Orff accompanying skills a plus!Core Job Responsibilities : This role is a full-time long-term substitute teaching position with the following major responsibilities : Teach music lessons for all PreK-2nd grade 3rd grade choral ensemble once / 4th and 5th grade choral ensemble twice / 7-day captivating lessons that incorporate Singing Moving Improvisation Listening Playing Instruments Creating Reading Notating Describing and Evaluation. Demonstrate energized classroom a positive classroom experience that incorporates effective classroom management with grade level teams other curriculum specialists and Student Support Team as all supervisory duties as assigned before during and after formal instructional times.
