Job Title : Chef
General Responsibilities :
Chefs are responsible for the overall kitchen, BOH staff management, and food operations. Chefs are responsible for the execution of the culinary aspect of the restaurant and catering events; this includes quality product ordering, food production, inventory control, menu coordination, staff scheduling, housekeeping and assisting in staff training.
Specific Duties :
- Report to work as scheduled, on time, well-groomed and dressed in proper attire.
- Primarily responsible for all back of house operations including quality, food production, inventory, food ordering, housekeeping, and menu management.
- Assist in developing new menu items, develop employees and meet profitability goals.
- Make sound business decisions regarding the BOH operations that have the most beneficial and profitable outcome.
- Manage high standards of quality in the kitchen through effective coaching.
- Communicate and follow up on day-to-day objectives with all the staff to ensure completion.
- Maintain a kitchen focused on quality, people, sales and profit by proactively seeking out opportunities when possible.
- Manage high quality standards to ensure a safe working environment.
- Recruit, develop and retain skilled staff for current and future positions.
- Appropriately schedule staff for forecasted sales.
- Audit internal processes and adjust as needed to complete goals
- Manage employee relations issues to ensure a harmonious work environment for all staff.
- Fill in wherever it is necessary to move the line faster, assist in delivering product and serving food to customers.
Requirements :
3 years’ experience in fine dining or equivalent restaurantStrong focus on high quality food preparation and deliveryMust have strong work ethic and reliabilityAble to work in a fast-paced environment.Able to be on your feet for extended periods of time.Ability to lift and carry 50lbs as needed with assistance.Continuous use of hands and arms.Continuous standing, walking, climbing, reaching and twisting.Able to withstand cold temperatures for extended periods during inventorySalary / Benefits
