Stockroom Attendant 2 (Part-time)

Salary : $17.40 hourly

Classification : Part-time Permanent Classified

Reports to : Dean of M&T

Olympic College is recruiting a Stockroom Attendant 2 position for the Welding Lab on the Bremerton Campus. This position works closely with instructors to ensure the shop and classroom are well-stocked, safe, and ready for instruction. Responsibilities include managing tools and equipment, maintaining inventory, and supporting daily operations such as attendance tracking, recycling runs, and material preparation. The role also provides hands-on assistance to instructors during class, helping with setup, safety, and ensuring students have the necessary supplies and tools.

Essential Functions

Inventory & Supply Management

  • Check inventory and notify supervisor when necessary to re-order needed items
  • Monitor and report to the supervisor low inventory levels to reorder when supplies are low
  • Replace consumable items in the shop as needed (i.e., welding electrodes in oven, cylinders in storage areas, etc.)
  • Rearrange and organize the stock room to accommodate inventory movement

Tool & Equipment Oversight

  • Issue tools and equipment to students and keep daily records of when a tool is "checked out" and "checked in"
  • Assist the supervisor in performing scheduled maintenance on equipment and repair as needed
  • Work with the supervisor to arrange the repair of equipment as needed
  • Shop & Facility Cleanliness and Safety

  • Keep the stock room and / or tool room and surrounding perimeter neat, clean and organized, which includes custodial duties as required (i.e., sweeping floor of grinding grit and keeping the table and sink area clean and free from clutter)
  • Assist in keeping the shop clean and safe
  • Operational Support & Coordination

  • Daily manage attendance sheets
  • May be called upon to help cut material as needed for shop use
  • Coordinate & monitor with faculty scrap steel and recycling pick up
  • Work with the supervisor to monitor work hours, schedule recycling runs
  • Perform other related duties as required and / or assigned
  • Qualifications

    Minimum Qualifications

  • Six months of full-time experience as a Stockroom Attendant 1 OR equivalent education / experience.
  • Understanding and experience of welding equipment and processes as well as welding consumables.
  • Physical ability to lift up to 60 lbs.

    Terms of Employment

    Please note that we are unable to sponsor visas for this position. Only candidates who are currently authorized to work in the United States will be considered.

    Hourly employees must work 480 hours in a rolling six-month period to become eligible for health benefits. Hourly employees must work 70 hours in any five months for two consecutive years to become eligible for retirement. This is an hourly position scheduled to work up to 18 hours per week, with a salary of $17.40 hourly. They are not initially eligible for benefits upon hire but could qualify for the following.

    This is a part-time classified position. All classified positions will start their salary at Step A , when you have completed six months of probation, you will receive a 5 percent pay increase. A collective bargaining agreement exists, and this position is covered by the Washington Public Employees Associate (WPEA) Union. Classified positions qualify for the following benefits :
