Description

Key Clinical Responsibilities :

1. Cardiac Catheterization & Interventional Procedures

Perform diagnostic and interventional cardiac catheterization procedures including coronary angiography percutaneous coronary interventions (PCI) and other advanced coronary and structural interventions as credentialed.

2. Inpatient Care

Provide consultative services for hospitalized patients with acute and chronic cardiovascular diseases including pre- and post-procedural management.

Collaborate with the inpatient cardiology hospitalist and intensive care teams to ensure coordinated evidence-based patient care.

3. Outpatient Clinic Responsibilities

Conduct comprehensive outpatient consultations and follow-up visits for patients with coronary artery disease peripheral vascular disease and structural heart conditions.

Evaluate and optimize medical therapy for patients with complex coronary syndromes angina or prior revascularization procedures.

Perform pre-procedural assessments and post-procedural follow-up ensuring continuity of care and appropriate secondary prevention strategies.

Manage referrals from community cardiologists primary care physicians and other specialists providing expert interventional and diagnostic guidance.

Interpret non-invasive testing results (e.g. stress testing echocardiography CT angiography) and integrate findings into individualized care plans.

Collaborate with nurse practitioners physician assistants and other allied health professionals to maintain high clinic efficiency and patient satisfaction.

Participate in multidisciplinary outpatient conferences such as heart team discussions for complex coronary and structural cases.

Ensure accurate and timely documentation coding and communication within the electronic health record (EHR).

4. Multidisciplinary Collaboration

Work closely with cardiothoracic surgeons electrophysiologists imaging specialists and heart failure / transplant teams to deliver coordinated cardiovascular care.

Contribute to case conferences quality improvement meetings and collaborative research initiatives.

5. Teaching & Mentorship

Provide clinical instruction and supervision for cardiology fellows residents and medical students in both procedural and outpatient settings.

Participate in educational activities and continuing medical education (CME) programs within the Division of Cardiology.

6. Quality & Compliance

Uphold Emory Healthcares standards of safety quality and patient-centered care.

Participate in catheterization laboratory quality assurance peer review and performance improvement initiatives.

Maintain compliance with institutional state and federal regulations as well as all credentialing and documentation requirements.

NOTE : Position tasks are required to be performed in-person at an Emory University location; working remote is not an option. Emory reserves the right to change this status with notice to employee.
