Job Overview
The CSP Tech is responsible for decontamination, assembly of instrument sets, operation of steam and Sterrad sterilization, as well as all monitoring processes included with the same.
Qualifications
Required : High School Diploma or equivalent
Preferred : At least 1 year applicable work experience
Certifications and Licenses Required : HSPA certification

Essential Functions
Maintain adequate inventory for assembly of instruments and equipmentPerform multiple tasks that assist in the daily operation of all units as well as provide customer serviceOrient new employees on the computerized tracking systemDecontaminate and clean all instrumentation received according to established standards and proceduresDecontaminates surgical instruments and other medical equipment as needed, maintaining a continuous flow of equipment through the processPrepare case carts and trays for decontamination and load into washer and / or sterilizer as prescribedOperate index washers, cart washers, ultrasonic cleaners and perform manual cleaning of instruments as prescribedInspect instruments for cleanliness, function, and integrityAssemble surgical trays following needs lists and prioritiesUse appropriate container, wrap, or pouch according to instrument sizeCommunicate issues with instrument preparation to the SupervisorBe proficient in all General instruments and sets as well as all service linesPrecept others on proper inspection and assembly of instrument setsSterilize instruments and surgical trays following policies and proceduresRun tests on sterilizers and document parameter compliancePrecept on sterilizationUse chemicals safely with appropriate PPEWear PPE in all areasSupport OR schedule by expediting instruments / equipment as neededAssist in obtaining instruments / equipment for procedures in a timely mannerHave knowledge of basic and complex instrumentation and be competent in all service linesCompetent in implant trays and restocking of setsCommunicate information regarding instrumentation, equipment, and supplies that may affect surgery in a timely mannerDemonstrate knowledge of sterile technique, universal precautions, safety, and disaster protocolParticipate in quality and efficiency improvement activities and attend in-service programsMaintain strong written and verbal communication and teamworkMaintain attendance and certification renewal requirementsOrient and precept new employees in Central Sterile ProcessingAble to lead the Central Processing Team in the absence of the Manager or SupervisorUtilize critical thinking to prioritize and perform tasksBenefits and Perks
