Warehouse Assistant Supervisor
The Warehouse Assistant Supervisor is a critical member of our team at the Wyoming Women's Center in Lusk, WY! This position is responsible for the ordering, receiving, tracking, and distribution of all supplies and commissary items needed for the operations of Wyoming Women's Center, while supervising a team of inmate workers.
Essential functions include managing warehouse, canteen and / or other facilities to include ordering, stocking and inventory control; supervising up to ten inmate workers in the operation of daily warehouse and / or canteen tasks; assisting in procurement activities; applying established procedures and regulations in maintaining work unit documents; researching and correcting discrepancies in inventory documents, requisitions, purchase orders, etc; and performing detailed product research to ensure the best fit for the requirements of the requester and the department.
Preference may be given to those with prior correctional warehouse management experience. Knowledge of databases, spreadsheets and purchasing system software; product lines and merchandise pricing techniques; bid, quote and award procedures; methods and principles used in modern warehouse procedures; and correctional policy and procedures are required. Minimum qualifications include a Bachelor's Degree (typically in Finance) and 0-2 years of progressive work experience (typically in Purchasing or Inventory) with acquired knowledge at the level of a Shipping and Receiving Clerk II.
Physical working conditions include ability to lift up to 50 pounds at a sustained rate; climbing on an occasional to regular basis; lifting / grasping up to 50 pounds without assistance on a regular basis; walking on cement floors on an occasional to regular basis; walking up and down stairs on a regular basis; balancing on an occasional basis; stooping, bending, kneeling, crouching on a regular basis; crawling on an occasional basis; reaching on a regular basis; standing on an occasional to regular basis; pushing / pulling on a regular basis; typing / repetitive motion on an occasional to regular basis; talking / hearing on a frequent basis; and seeing : the visual ability to determine the accuracy, neatness, and thoroughness of the work assigned.
