Job Title : Street Operations Equipment Operator
Performs semi-skilled to skilled work operating moderately complex vehicles or construction equipment in the performance of assigned duties. An employee in a position assigned to this classification is responsible for safe operation of the vehicle or equipment. Responsibilities include performing routine safety checks and maintenance of the equipment as necessary. Work is assigned and reviewed by a designated supervisor. Performance is evaluated through observation of work in progress and upon completion for achievement of desired results in a safe, efficient manner.

Qualifications
High school diploma or GED equivalent plus two (2) to three (3) years of experience in the operation and maintenance of light to medium automotive, construction, or maintenance equipment; or an equivalent combination of training, education and experience. Possess and maintain a valid Florida Drivers License with a Class B CDL endorsement. Possess, or obtain within 12 months of hire, and maintain a Florida Work Zone Traffic Control Safety Certification. Possess, or obtain within 12 months of hire, and maintain a Florida Stormwater, Erosion and Sedimentation Control Inspector Certification.
Supplemental Information
Knowledge and skill in the operation, maintenance, and use of light to medium automotive equipment and motor driven tools. Knowledge of basic safety precautions and the occupational hazards connected with the use of moderately complex automotive equipment. Knowledge of traffic and other regulations governing the use of equipment throughout the assigned work area. Knowledge of the occupational hazards involved in the safety precautions necessary in the operation of equipment. Knowledge of routine maintenance procedures for automotive equipment. Ability to understand and carry out oral and written instructions.
