Position Summary
Plans, coordinates and provides total nursing care for patients and provides supervision and guidance to clinical staff members. Scope of work may be modified by state specific rules under the Nurse Practice Act.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
1. Develop and implement infection control policies and procedures
2. Conduct regular assessments of the facility to identify and mitigate potential infection risks
3. Train staff on proper infection control techniques and protocols
4. Monitor and report on the incidence and trends of infections
5. Investigate and respond to reports of infections
6. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to develop and implement infection control programs
7. Stay up-to-date with current infection control practices and regulation
8. Supervises, directs and evaluates UMs, LNs, CNAs and UCs
9. Administers medications, starts IVs and performs treatments for assigned residents, and documents that treatment as required by PureHealth, and local, state and federal rules and regulations
10. Participates in orientation, training and in-servicing of team members
11. Assists physicians with special tests and procedures within the scope of state specified Nursing Practice Act
12. Ensures that supplies are utilized economically and that equipment is clean and maintained in a safe manner
13. Reports and records pertinent observations and reactions regarding residents 14. Coordinates nursing care of residents when scheduled for therapy or procedures by other departments
15. Assists with or institutes emergency measures for sudden adverse developments in residents
16. Supervises team, which includes scheduling and directing the nursing staff to extent permitted by state practice act
17. Attends and participates in in-service training.

Work Environment
This job operates in a post-acute setting. This role requires regular walking to variouslocations around the facility. This role also routinely comes into contact with patients who may have contagious illnesses. Team member is expected to adhere to facility’s no-smoking policy.
Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, and stooping all day. The employee must frequently lift and/or move items over 60 pounds.
Position Type and Expected Hours of Work
This is a position in a post-acute setting that is open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Weekend and holiday shifts will be required.

Required Education/Experience
• High School Diploma or Equivalent
• Graduate of accredited School of Nursing
• A minimum of five (5) years of progressive nursing experience
• A minimum of two (2) years’ experience in a nursing leadership role
Required Licenses/Certifications
• Valid State LPN/RN License, as applicable
• Valid CPR Certification PreferredEducation/Experience
• College/University Degree in Nursing, Healthcare Management, Business or other related field
• A minimum of seven (7) years of progressive nursing experience
