Overview
Banner Staffing Services (BSS) offers Registry / Per Diem opportunities within Banner Health. This is a per diem position with hours varying, including weekends as needed. The role is located in Greeley, Colorado and has an estimated pay range of $19.06 - $28.60 per hour, based on location, education, and experience. This position is the first point of contact at healthcare facilities and assists patients with the administrative aspect of gaining access to medical treatment.
As a BSS team member, you are eligible to apply (at any time) as an internal applicant to any regular opportunities within Banner Health. Registry / Per Diem positions do not have guaranteed hours and no medical benefits package is offered.
Responsibilities
- Patient registration and intake, including collecting insurance information and demographics, verifying eligibility and benefits, and generating patient estimates for services rendered.
- Coordinate financial counseling, set up payment plans, and collect patient liability; communicate clearly about financial responsibilities.
- Verify patient insurance information, understand payer guidelines, and assist with obtaining authorizations as required.
- Input and maintain accurate patient demographics in the electronic health record (EHR) system to maximize reimbursement and minimize denials.
- Provide superior customer service and deliver a positive patient experience through effective communication.
- May perform additional tasks such as transporting patients, training new hires, posting daily deposits, or other duties within the Patient Access Services team as assigned.
- Work in a high-volume, fast-paced clinical environment with the ability to adapt, think critically, and prioritize tasks to ensure timely patient care.
Core Functions
Verify demographics and input accurate information into the EHR; document thoroughly to maximize reimbursement and minimize denials.Proficiency across multiple service areas (inpatient, observation, emergency, obstetrics, surgery, imaging); may require 24 / 7 coverage.Understand and apply insurance guidelines; verify benefits and eligibility.Make a positive first impression for the patient experience and communicate effectively.Submit payer authorizations timely according to guidelines; strive to reduce denials and meet registration KPIs.Obtain required compliance information and documentation from patients' insurance plans; use multiple computer systems proficiently.Discuss financial liability with patients / families and assist with payment options, lines of credit, or Banner Financial Assistance as applicable.Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
High school diploma or GED required.Customer service experience or knowledge of patient financial services, billing, or insurance processes (generally 1+ year).Ability to manage multiple tasks with minimal supervision; work independently and in a team; strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.Proficiency with common office software; typing and data entry skills required.In certain locations, employees in behavioral health settings may need an Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card and related affidavit at hire.Preferred Qualifications
Associate's degree preferred.CRCR (Certified Revenue Cycle Representative) or CHAA (Certified Healthcare Access Associate) certifications.Knowledge of medical terminology or healthcare systems.Additional Details
