Job description

Harvard Resource Solutions is seeking a Payroll Manager in the Kalamazoo County area.

The Payroll Manager is responsible for overseeing the payroll function, ensuring employees are paid accurately and on time. This role involves managing payroll staff, maintaining compliance with tax regulations and labor laws, preparing reports, and improving payroll systems and processes. The Payroll Manager collaborates with HR, Finance, and external vendors , and must handle confidential information with discretion and integrity.

Fully in office

Salary is $85,000 - $100,000 annually

Responsibilities

  • Under general supervision is responsible for the following major tasks :
  • Manage and process payroll for all employees.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll laws.
  • Maintain payroll records and prepare reports for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Supervise and support payroll team members.
  • Oversee benefits deductions, tax withholdings, and other payroll-related items.
  • Identify and implement process improvements and automation opportunities.

Education and Experience :

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Business Administration is a plus
  • 5 plus years of experience (both technical and managerial) in payroll and personnel accounting methods, with two years concentration in medium to large sized corporations.
  • Two years of experience in expat and inpat processing.
  • Experience working for large companies, processing payroll for 2,000 plus employees.
  • Software's : Ceridian Dayforce and AS400 is a plus
  • Candidates will be given a Wonderlic Assessment and will have to pass with a score of 50 or better.
