Valparaiso University College of Nursing and Health Professions invites applications for the position of Assistant or Associate Professor of Nursing. This position is a full time, 9-month tenure-track appointment, beginning August 2026. The responsibilities of this position include teaching undergraduate / graduate courses in the BSN and DNP programs. Additional responsibilities will include working collaboratively with faculty within the CONHP and the university; providing service to the university, profession, and the practice community; and developing a research and scholarly agenda of contributions to the field. The successful candidate will hold an earned doctorate in nursing, preferably PhD, and have three or more years of academic experience. The position is announced at the assistant professor level, but outstanding candidates could be considered at a higher rank with multiple years of teaching experience, an established research agenda, and scholarly accomplishments.
Candidates should be interested in working at a university engaged in issues in Christian higher education in the Lutheran tradition. The College of Nursing and Health Professions has programs in nursing (BSN and DNP), exercise science (BSXS), health science (BSHS), healthcare leadership (BSHL), healthcare administration (MHCA), public health (BSPH and MPH), physician assistant studies (MSPA), and occupational therapy (DrOT, OTD).
