POSITION TITLE :
Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) - Pekin, IL
Job Type : Full time
RESPONSIBILITIES :
Provide occupational therapy services within the school setting under the direction of a Registered Occupational Therapist
Deliver direct or consultative treatment sessions.
Administer therapeutic exercises and positioning.
Provide services focused on fine motor skills, neuromuscular re-education, sensory integration, daily living skills, and related areas.
Assist with fabrication of splints / braces and adaptation of equipment to support student learning.
Support evaluations by gathering data and performing delegated tasks.
Observe students in the educational environment and provide input and recommendations to the supervising therapist and team.
Document therapy activities and maintain required records using appropriate forms or systems.
Participate in IEP and team meetings for students served.
QUALIFICATIONS :
Completion of an approved Occupational Therapy Assistant program of at least two years in length, leading to an associate's degree or its equivalent.
Current State of Illinois license as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant.
Physically capable of performing the essential duties of the position.
Certification as an Occupational Therapy Assistant.
