We are seeking a skilled and versatile Software Test Engineer to contribute to a quality assurance team responsible for the software on a variety of connected hardware devices within an IoT systems. In this role, you will work hands-on with mostly manual (and some automated) testing, drive improvements in development and deployment workflows, and ensure our hardware and software meet the highest standards for reliability, security, and performance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and maintain manual and automated tests for component software, including APIs, system integration, and performance tests.
  • Ensure product quality throughout the development process, from requirements analysis to production deployment.
  • Perform exploratory testing on new and evolving systems.
  • Provide technical support for troubleshooting, incident resolution, and continuous improvement related to gateways and required software.
  • Collaborate with developers, DevOps, and product owners to optimize test coverage and feedback loops.
  • Contribute to and improve test strategies, release plans, and QA documentation.

    • Required Skills & Experience

  • Experience in both manual and automatedtesting of backend systems, APIs, and distributed platforms.
  • Bring an interest in and curiosity for fundamental QA that serves as a foundation for someone passionate about finding and correcting issues.
  • Experience testing and handling embedded Linux systems, firmware, and system integration (IoT / gateway experience is a plus).
  • Proficiency with CI / CD tools (Jenkins, GitHub Actions), and version control (Git).
  • Strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to analyze complex systems and data flows across networks and gateways.
  • Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS preferred), Docker / Kubernetes, and system monitoring.
  • Excellent teamwork and communication skills, with the ability to give and take feedback in a constructive, professional manner.
