Job Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced Ambulatory Operating Room RN with SC or compact license and at least one year of OR experience across multiple specialties.
Responsibilities
Ambulatory Operating Room setting with pre-op and post-op responsibilitiesCovers a variety of specialties including Orthopedics (total joints, arthroscopy, hand, shoulder, elbow), Interventional Radiology, GI, Ophthalmology, Ortho, ENT, GYN, GU, Endocrine, Surgical Oncology, Plastics, and RoboticsUnit has 2 ORs, 2 GI procedural rooms, and 1 VIR procedural roomPre / post area includes 20 bays for patients and a team of 10 RNs and 1 PCTScheduled for four 10-hour day shifts per week, 6 : 30am–5 : 00pmAnticipate staying late a few times per month based on case volumePossible floating within perioperative facility as neededNo call requirementUses EPIC EMRResponsible for prepping patients, reviewing medical history, reconciling medications, starting IVs, obtaining vital signs and EKGs, administering IV fluids and meds, and discharging post-anesthesia patientsExpected to collaborate closely with surgeons, anesthesia, and perioperative nursing teamFast-paced work environment caring for a wide variety of surgical and procedural patientsAll mandatory training modules must be completed pre-start with average of 4 hours spentRequests for time off (RTO) must be submitted prior to contract consideration; approval is based on department needsAll employees and contractors may be assigned to emergency response teams during hurricane season (June–November)Scrubs or dress code policy will be followed as per department standardsBlock scheduling accommodations may be requested but are not guaranteedRequirements
Active SC or compact RN license is required for considerationCurrent AHA BLS certificationRadiation badge required, to be provided by parent companyMinimum one year of Operating Room RN experience requiredExperience in Ophthalmology, Ortho, ENT, GYN, GU, Endocrine, Surgical Oncology, Plastics, Robotics, and Total JointsNo experience in general surgery, L&D, or pediatrics required as these are not performed in this unitExperience with EPIC EMR preferredMust provide driver's license and SSN for complianceMust not have been employed with the specified health system as perm or PRN staff within the past yearFirst-time travelers are not acceptedLocals within 60 miles considered at local rateBenefits
