A day in this role

You clock in, review the job traveler and blueprint, and set up a CNC or automated lathe with the required tooling. You load the program, run a first-off part, and verify dimensions against specifications. Throughout the shift, you monitor tool wear, make offset adjustments, and keep the machine producing consistent, high‑precision components. If an alarm pops or a surface finish drifts, you troubleshoot and correct it. You wrap up by checking parts, recording results, and sharing improvement ideas with the team.

What you’ll do

• Operate CNC or automated lathes to manufacture precision parts
• Read and interpret blueprints to guide setups and inspections
• Inspect parts to meet required specifications and quality standards
• Troubleshoot issues and adjust machine settings to maintain performance
• Change and adjust tooling to sustain product quality
• Collaborate with teammates to drive continuous process improvements
