Responsibilities Work on a Med / Surg Telemetry unit in a large acute care, Level I Trauma, and teaching hospital Patient ratios are 1 : 5, with the possibility of 1 : 6 due to high capacity Floating to PCU, other Med / Surg-like units, lower acuity settings, and ED is required and expected Night shift position (3x12 hours, 19 : 00-07 : 30) Weekend requirement is two weekends per four-week schedule, subject to unit needs Uses Cerner EMR system No on-call requirements Position includes duties in IV starts and telemetry patient care with high-acuity cases Compliance requirements must be met promptly within the first 1-2 weeks post-offer Scrub color is black; scrubs are not provided Travelers may work up to 12 consecutive months before a mandatory break is required Former perm employees may return as travelers if out of system for at least 12 months Holiday time off is limited to one holiday block; additional requests may require approval RTO requests over 10 days require approval; no RTO permitted during first or last 7 days of contract First-time travelers are accepted Requirements Active NM or compact RN license (may be pending at time of consideration) Minimum one year recent Med / Surg Tele experience Current ACLS, BCLS, and NIH certifications required IV start and telemetry skills required COVID vaccination required; medical and religious exemptions accepted with provider documentation No local candidates within 75 miles of the facility Driver's License (non-local) required, or written transportation plan if unavailable RQI certifications are NOT accepted Benefits High Pay and Bonuses Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options 401(k) Plan Weekly Payroll Deposit Free Online CEUs Generous Housing Allowance Travel and Licensure Reimbursements Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy Traveler Rewards and Discounts American Traveler Job ID P-627043.
