Departments : Editorial, Design

Reports to : Senior Graphic Designer, Editorial Coordinator, Communications Coordinator, Editorial Assistant, Junior Editor

Commitment : This is a volunteer position with extremely flexible hours that can be easily incorporated with work, school, and personal schedules.

Qualifications :

• Strong understanding of SLUG Magazine s brand
• Strong photography skills and experience
• Passion for the SLC local scene and elevating Utahs creative culture
• Keen knowledge of music, arts, lifestyle, and local events
• Ability to follow SLUG s photography style guide
• Experience with Photoshop and Google Drive
• Meets deadlines and upholds commitments
• Reliable and exhibits attention to detail
• Quick learner and adaptable
• Maturity and ability to professionally represent SLUG Magazine
• Get real-world experience photographing local people, food, events, and more that will be published online and in print and credited to your name
• Add photography and other art projects to your portfolio
• Network and work with a wide range of local writers, artists, musicians, restaurants, and community leaders
• Participate in exclusive SLUG contributor meet-ups and enjoy free entry to many SLUG community events
• Enjoy the freedom to express your personal photography style
• Be supported by a communicative, constructive, and involved Editorial team and Design team

SLUG Magazine fosters a highly skilled, creative, energized, and empowered team. As a SLUG Photographer, you will shoot eye-catching portraits, landscapes, event coverage, and editorial photos to accompany SLUG articles both online and in print.
