Position Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented, proactive, and analytical Accountant to join our finance team in Saint Petersburg, Florida just minutes away from Tampa. This role will work closely with the Controller and collaborate with both Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable departments to ensure accurate financial reporting and smooth day-to-day accounting operations. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, demonstrates strong organizational skills, and has a solid understanding of accounting principles and procedures.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and post routine journal entries in accordance with GAAP
- Perform regular bank and account reconciliations, identifying and resolving discrepancies
- Maintain accurate financial records and ensure proper documentation
- Apply incoming payments against customer accounts and reconcile customer balances
- Assist in the month-end and year-end closing processes
- Collaborate with AR / AP departments to ensure smooth financial transactions and proper cash flow reporting
- Assist in the processing of payroll, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
- Investigate and reconcile financial discrepancies by reviewing relevant accounts, records, and data
- Provide support to the Controller on ad hoc financial projects, reporting, and audits
- Help maintain compliance with internal controls and company policies
Qualifications
Minimum 3 years of experience in bookkeeping and / or accountingAssociate’s degree or higher in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (Bachelor’s preferred)Experience using NetSuite (or similar ERP systems) is highly desirableStrong understanding of accounting principles and practicesHigh proficiency in Microsoft Excel and general computer literacyExceptional attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple prioritiesSelf-motivated, with the ability to work independently and take initiativeDemonstrated problem-solving and analytical abilitiesFlexible and adaptable to shifting priorities in a fast-paced environmentExcellent written and verbal communication skillsAbility to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive financial information with integrityWork Environment & Schedule
