Job descriptionEnsures compliance with and adherence to applicable codes, ordinances, building and safety standards pertaining to ammonia refrigeration, wastewater, boiler, HVAC, water filtration, and utility equipment / systems. Cross trains and performs general and preventive system, equipment and facility maintenance activities and responds to trouble calls. Initiates purchase orders for parts and service. Works to conserve organizational resources and stay within approved budget. Maintains working knowledge of new technologies and regulations and strives to continuously build knowledge and skills; shares expertise with others. Completes equipment logs / reports in a neat, accurate and timely manner. Assists in developing and maintaining comprehensive hazardous material and spill prevention programs. Recognizes dangerous and emergency conditions within the process and performs procedures necessary to remove the condition, shut down the process / facility and / or initiate emergency evacuation and notification procedures. Exhibits sound and accurate judgment and includes appropriate people in decision making process. Follows policies and procedures and observes safety and security procedures. Uses equipment and materials properly and reports potentially unsafe conditions. Performs other duties as assigned. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software. High School Diploma or equivalent. One year certificate from college or technical school related to refrigeration, boiler, and / or HVAC. Skill with PLCs and Instrumentation a plus. Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times. May work long hours of work to reach goals, including weekend work as needed.
