Responsibilities
Develop high quality presentations and communicate complex transportation planning concepts in a simple and relatable manner with compelling, professional visual designs that informs and educates clients, stakeholders and the public.
Create, revise, and update a wide range of deliverables including but not limited to exhibits, flyers, infographics, reports, maps/wayfinding graphics, social media graphics, presentations, stylized templates for long documents, logos, and assets for digital engagement.
Support multimodal transportation planning studies for a wide range of clients including but not limited to state DOTs, metropolitan planning organizations, transit agencies, and local governments.
Support community engagement and public information efforts, meetings, and public hearings. Participate in public meetings or hearings to explain planning proposals, to gather feedback from those affected by projects, or to achieve consensus on project designs.
Collaborate with engineers to research, analyze, or resolve complex transportation design issues.
Provide in-house staff support to clients up to 4 to 5 days per week.
Perform other duties as needed.
Preferred Qualifications
Strong knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, Sketchbook Pro, Premiere Pro and InDesign) and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
Experience with production of reports and presentations, and graphic presentation of planning concepts and complex quantitative data.
Ability to multi-task and stay organized. Highly responsive to requests from clients.
Familiarity with ArcGIS, travel demand modeling, and graphics software
Local candidates preferred
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Urban Planning or closely related field
Experience with Microsoft Office programs
Self-starter with excellent writing and communication skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Strong conceptual, organizational, problem-solving and research abilities
May require the ability to travel
