Setting Acute Care Hospital (150 beds) and Outpatient

Job Details & Day-to-Day

This role involves treating approximately 35 patients daily in a facility that requires proficiency in advanced and complex radiation therapies. The unit is within an Acute Care Hospital.

Primary Diagnoses : Breast, Prostate, Lung, Head and Neck Cancer, plus variable cancers.

Core Treatments : SRS (Stereotactic Radiosurgery), SBRT, and IMRT (Intensity Modulated Radiotherapy).

General treatments include External Beam Therapy, Craniospinal, and Respiratory Gating.

Procedures / Skills : Must be proficient in CBCT / kV / mV imaging, Simulation of Treatment Sites, Chart checks, and Radiation Safety. Strong skills in Starting and maintaining IVs are implied by the extensive list of advanced procedures.

Equipment / Systems : Treatment units are Elekta Synergy and Elekta Infinity (training provided if needed). Utilizes C-RAD and Mosaiq (EHR / R&V).

Charting System : Epic (Required).

Floating / Call : Floating is required between like units / within facility. No Call or Weekend Coverage required.

Support : Interdisciplinary support includes Respiratory Services, Radiology, and Social Services.
