The client is a national leader in emergency vehicle products and installations. Its mission is to deliver a superior customer experience, supply only the highest quality brands, and achieve exceptional workmanship in every vehicle—each built with individual pride. The company has already acquired three businesses with plans to acquire additional business.
The Role
The client is seeking a seasoned and strategic General Manager to lead its operations in its Tacoma location, including oversight of newly acquired businesses in the region and support for future acquisitions in the region. This role is ideal for a proven leader in the automotive services industry—such as auto repair or collision—who brings a strong mix of operational expertise, P&L ownership, and people leadership. The General Manager will be responsible for driving performance across at a large Tacoma location, integrating new businesses, and managing teams ranging from technicians to senior leaders. This is a high-impact role requiring an individual who can seamlessly navigate between shop-floor execution and executive-level strategy. Travel up to 30% is expected.
Responsibilities
- Lead day-to-day operations and strategic growth for the company's Tacoma location, including oversight of newly acquired businesses in the region
- Support and lead integration of future acquisitions in the region, including due diligence, onboarding, and operational alignment.
- Oversee full P&L responsibility, ensuring financial targets are met and operational efficiencies are achieved.
- Build, lead, and develop high-performing teams across multiple locations, fostering a culture of safety, accountability, and excellence.
- Collaborate directly with the executive leadership team to align regional initiatives with company-wide objectives.
- Drive operational improvements, implement standardized processes, and support systems upgrades where needed.
- Serve as a cultural ambassador and operational leader across both frontline technicians and corporate stakeholders.
Qualifications
7+ years of progressive leadership experience in the automotive service industry (e.g., auto repair, collision, aftermarket services, or related).Has to have managed at least $8mm annual revenue in the auto collision or upfitting industryProven track record of managing multi-location operations with full P&L responsibility.Strong general management skill set : operations, finance, people leadership, and customer service.Technical fluency in automotive repair or service environments; capable of building credibility with technicians and service advisors.Able to “helicopter up and down” – from boardroom strategy sessions to shop-floor conversations.Experience leading teams through growth, change, or acquisition integration is a plus.Willingness to travel up to 30% across the Pacific NorthwestHands-on, entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to operate in a dynamic, growth-oriented, PE-backed environment.
