National Account Manager (KAM)

We are seeking a results-driven National Account Manager (KAM) to join our commercial team.
The Key Account Manager position is an exciting opportunity in a fast-paced environment. It is for an individual that has a relentless passion for building and fostering customer relationships, is data-driven and has proven experience with creating strong relationships with a diverse client group. As the Account Manager, you will be the primary point of contact for building new and existing clients and will be responsible for driving business growth. This role will report to the Director of National Key Accounts.
KEY ACCOUNT MANAGER RESPONSIBILITIES :
RELATIONSHIP MANAGEMENT
- Develop and maintain strong, long-term relationships with key retailers, and major accounts across all provinces establishing SNDL as the preferred partner
- Have strategic and tactical conversations regarding inventory levels, assortment variety, and order management trends / forecasts that support the annual operating plan
- Serve as a subject matter expert on market trends, consumer insights, and competitive landscape.
- Provide superior customer service which includes onboarding and orientation, reviewing KPIs, establishing proactive communications and providing ongoing business support
- Maintain relationships with management to ensure alignment between market opportunities, business development activities and operational capabilities
- Proactively review order management trends for service issues and work with internal departments to problem solve and develop continuous improvement opportunities
SELLING AND INFLUENCING
Identify growth opportunities with new and existing accounts and proactively propose strategies to increase sales volume and brand presence.Monitor product performance, provide sales forecasts, and collaborate with internal teams (marketing, operations, supply chain) to ensure demand planning accuracy.Conduct regular account reviews, performance analytics, and KPI tracking to evaluate success and refine strategies.Represent the company at industry trade shows, conferences, and events as required.Develop formal proposals and negotiate service agreementsIdentify new distribution opportunities and build partnerships that maximize profitable share and volume through distribution, visibility and serviceAchieve KPI targets on sales growth, market share growth, efficient distribution, maximizing product placement, and pricing.Maintain and accurately track annual sales and budgetsTrack competitive activity and communicate internally and respond quickly when required.Ensure compliance with Health Canada regulations and provincial distribution rules in all sales and marketing activities.QUALIFICATIONS
Post-secondary degree in Business, Commerce, or related field35+ years of experience in key account management, ideally within the cannabis, CPG, beverage alcohol, or pharmaceutical sectors.Knowledge of the cannabis sector (major companies, stakeholders, business models, regulatory environment, etc.) is a strong assetDemonstrated success managing large, complex accounts with multiple stakeholders.Strong analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.Proven track record in achieving sales quotas and KPI targetsAbility to work independently in a fast-paced, evolving environmentDemonstrated experience and understanding of the processes involved in supply chain, inventory, retail and customer service.Strong knowledge and proficiency with Microsoft Office programsAt the SNDL, we believe in creating products for those who need them.
