Responsibilities :

Assist in the transportation and positioning of patients.^Assemble and dismantle surgical tables and instruments before and after procedures.^Prepare the patient and the operating room for planned surgical procedures.^Open sterile supplies and set up for procedures.^Complete skin preparation and draping.^Assist the surgeon with gowning and gloving.^Pass instruments and sutures to the surgeon during procedures.^Maintain accurate counts of instruments, sutures, and sponges.^Apply dressings and bandages as needed.^Identify, collect, and care for specimens.^Decontaminate instruments, supplies, and equipment according to established policies and procedures; handle and store instruments and supplies appropriately.^Aid in the efficient turnover of the operating room for subsequent cases.^Monitor and restock supplies as needed.
