We are seeking a Financial Aid Officer who will report directly to the Director of Financial Aid. This position will be responsible for reviewing, awarding, and monitoring federal, state, and alternative aid programs. This position is part of the PCCC Enrollment Services team that strives to provide excellent customer service for all enrollment-related functions.
This is a full-time, administrative position.
Example of Duties :
- Assist students in completing financial aid forms and advise students and parents on financial aid procedures and policies.
- Review financial aid applications and supporting documents for corrections and accuracy of information.
- Communicate confidential information to students in a sensitive manner.
- Assist in determining eligibility for aid applicants and responsible for authorization of awards.
- Coordinate processing of the Federal Direct Loan program. Requires exceptional detail work, including reviewing exception reports and updating information for federal reporting as well as timely reconciliation.
- Participate in high school and community presentations on financial aid.
- Provide excellent customer service and answers to students' inquiries.
- Perform other related duties as assigned by supervisor.
Qualifications :
Bachelor's degree required.One to three years of experience in financial aid preferred.Working knowledge of all State and Federal Financial Aid Programs preferred.Computer literacy and ability to utilize an integrated student system (preferably Colleague).Ability to work well with people, excellent communication (both oral and written) and customer service skills. Bilingual preferred (Spanish / English).Must be committed to serving a diverse student population.Valid driver's license and ability to travel locally.Must be willing and able to work evenings., overtime and / or at other locations as required.The completion of a background check will be required for the selected candidate. Compensation : Salary is determined by a variety of criteria, including but not limited to, previous relevant experience, education level, and certifications. The starting salary for this position is $45,000.
