Job description

Process Engineering support position with responsibilities focused on supporting day to day operations with technical problem solving, continuous improvement, downtime reductions, change over time reductions, shop floor documentations, PDCA approach to problem solving. This position is focused on assembly and assembly automation. This position will interface with PLCs and Robotics. This individual will be expected to troubleshoot assembly automation problems and mechanical issues.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :

  • Receive projects from the Plant Manager, Area Production Unit Manager, or Launch Manager.
  • Attend meetings to determine corrective actions for quality and safety problems found with production equipment.
  • Perform continuous improvements to production machines focused on quality and safety.
  • Implement smart cameras to test for various defects.
  • Provide timing estimations for down time.
  • Purchase needed components as well as maintain budgets for large improvements.
  • Provide training in regard to machine improvements.
  • Document improvements made to production equipment and tooling.
  • Support the Maintenance of the tooling design data base, machine designs, and equipment PMs.
  • Track equipment KPIs, identify trends, implement corrective action, monitor and validate effectiveness.
  • Other duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS : QUALIFICATIONS :

Must have good interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate with Industrial, Engineering, production, and other plant and office personnel. Attention to detail and accuracy. Must have good computer skills with a working knowledge of electrical, safety, labeling, and sensing devices, Programable Logic Controllers. Robot Programming and troubleshooting maybe required. Must understand and be able to implement changes to mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical systems in a manufacturing environment.

EDUCATION & / or EXPERIENCE :

Bachelor's or equivalent in electrical, mechanical, industrial or manufacturing engineering or related engineering degree including three plus years of related experience and / or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS :

College advanced level math skills

COMPUTER SKILLS :

Good computer skills, proficient in Microsoft Office Software

REASONING ABILITY :

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and process several abstract and concrete variables. Must be able to assess reasonableness of the analysis performed.
