Job description
Empower Communication in the Heart of North Texas - Join Us as a Speech Language Pathologist

Overview

Imagine a career where your daily work breathes life into a purpose - quite literally. As a Speech Language Pathologist in one of North Texas's thriving communities, you'll do more than just address communication and swallowing disorders. You will help individuals unlock their potential, cultivate confidence, and foster connections - from young children speaking their first words to older adults reclaiming their independence.

This opportunity allows you to make a difference in the lives of individuals across all age groups, combining outpatient therapy with some inpatient support. Whether your passion lies in pediatric language development, adult neurogenic disorders, or geriatric cognitive-linguistic rehabilitation, you will discover deep satisfaction and flexibility in your role here.

Description
  • Assess patients from pediatric to geriatric demographics using standardized tests and observational assessments.
  • Create individualized treatment plans addressing immediate objectives and long-term communication, cognitive, or swallowing needs.
  • Deliver personalized speech therapy interventions targeting language, fluency, voice, and swallowing issues.
  • Work closely with a team of physical therapists, occupational therapists, nurses, physicians, caregivers, and families to create integrated care strategies.
  • Provide education to patients and families to facilitate progress beyond clinical sessions.
  • Support the occasional inpatient speech therapy assessments and interventions, ensuring seamless continuity of care throughout treatment.
  • Keep precise and timely documentation in accordance with regulatory standards.
  • Engage in ongoing learning through education and collaboration with peers to stay updated on advancements in the field.
Education
  • A Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
  • Completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY), if not yet certified by ASHA.
Certifications
  • State licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist.
  • Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA preferred.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 30 days of employment.
Skills
  • Expertise in evidence-based approaches tailored for all ages, with a solid understanding of developmental and acquired disorders in speech, language, and swallowing.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams.
  • Adept at modifying therapy methods to address diverse cultural and linguistic requirements.
  • Strong clinical judgment and critical thinking skills.
  • Familiarity with electronic medical records and documentation standards.
Benefits
  • Attractive salary based on experience.
  • Flexible hours that promote work-life harmony and diverse caseloads.
  • Chance to concentrate on specialties in pediatrics, adult neuro-rehabilitation, or geriatrics.
  • Paid time off (PTO) and holiday remuneration.
  • Medical, dental, vision, and life insurance available.
  • Support for continuing education and professional growth.
  • A collaborative, teamwork-focused culture committed to premium care and lifelong learning.

A Journey That Moves with You - and Transforms You

In this role, you will deliver more than just speech therapy - you will immerse yourself in a community initiative targeted at restoring voices, enhancing communication, and generating joyous moments through the fundamental human acts of understanding and connection.

You'll collaborate with clinicians who regard each other as family, in an environment dedicated to teamwork over competition. Each patient has their own narrative; we trust you to help shape it.

Why You'll Adore Living and Working in This Region

Experience a lifestyle in North Texas that harmoniously combines the pulse of innovation with the warmth of southern hospitality. Surrounded by beautiful parks and exciting urban adventures, this area offers a perfect mix of nature, culture, and career opportunities.

Families enjoy weekends spent in local parks for live music and picnics, while outdoor enthusiasts kayak crystal-clear waters or hike scenic trails. Culinary aficionados relish a diverse culinary scene, from vibrant food trucks serving street tacos to celebrated chefs who elevate local dishes into fine dining experiences.

The region pulses with creativity, where every mural tells a story, every local music venue resonates with talent, and every community festival celebrates diversity. Beyond lifestyle perks, there are financial benefits such as no state income tax, an affordable cost of living, and a flourishing healthcare environment providing fertile ground for your career to flourish.

Whether you are a newcomer to the field or a seasoned practitioner seeking to expand your horizons, you'll discover ample opportunities for personal and professional development here.

Who We're Eager to Welcome

We're on the lookout for a Speech Language Pathologist who is motivated not just by results, but also by compassion. Someone who sees a shy child and envisions a future rich in self-expression, who recognizes a stroke survivor's halting speech and hears determination in their voice.

You might be a pediatric-focused therapist ready to broaden your expertise into adult care - or a neuro-focused professional excited to incorporate early intervention into your practice.

Regardless of your specialty, if you're ready to serve with genuine heart and lead with skill, we're here to welcome you with open arms.

Let's Discover the Right Words - Together

If you believe speech encompasses more than mere sounds, and therapy is a journey beyond tasks - if you believe in building trust as a vital precursor to achieving goals and celebrating joy in every triumph, then this could be an extraordinary new chapter in your career.

Join us in a community that honors communication, connectivity, and the bravery required to start anew. Apply today to lend your voice to our team - and assist others in discovering theirs.
