Job descriptionProvide nursing care for hematology / oncology patients, including those receiving chemotherapy. Manage lines, chest tubes, and complex cases in a high-acuity setting. Administer medications, monitor patient progress, and communicate with the healthcare team. Accurately document in Epic EMR and maintain patient records. Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary team members to develop and implement individualized care plans. Float to other medical-surgical units within the nurse’s skill set as required. Participate in orientation, training, and adherence to hospital and unit policies. Experience : Level 1 trauma experience required; large facility and high-acuity background preferred. Hematology / Oncology and chemotherapy experience preferred but not required. Licenses & Certifications : BLS required; ACLS preferred for charge RNs. Education : Graduate of an accredited nursing program (Associate or Bachelor’s degree). Trauma Level : 1 EMR : Epic Systems – EpicCare Inpatient, EMR 2014 Certified Suite Unit : 5 South Hematology Oncology (32 beds) Nurse-to-Patient Ratio : Typically 1 : 5–1 : 6, adjusted for higher acuity Shift : 12-hour shifts (7a–7p or 7p–7a) Weekend Requirement : Every other weekend or 2 weekends per month Holiday Requirement : Rotational basis with staff Call Requirement : None Float Requirement : Within skill set to other med-surg units Scrub Color / Dress Code : Solid, professional color; scrubs not provided Proficiency : Our seasoned team of professionals has years of experience and we are dedicated to provide the highest quality service to our clients and candidates.
