IT Operations Engineer – Splunk / Linux
Position Location : Fort Bragg, Fayetteville, NC (on-site)
Description : SOFtact Solutions is seeking an intermediate to advanced-level IT Operations Engineer to join our team supporting IT operations for the Special Operations Community. The IT Operations Engineer will maintain various network-monitoring technologies and applications. This role will support Splunk infrastructure and contribute to our mission of providing innovative solutions in support of the warfighter. The ideal candidate will have familiarity with a Linux environment and a solid foundation in Splunk implementation best practices. This role involves maintaining servers both physical and virtual, ensuring comprehensive documentation of system configurations and changes, and collaborating with a team to interface with customers and clearly articulate requirements and capabilities of the Splunk platform. The primary work location for this position is Fort Bragg NC, with minimum travel as required. This position requires a TS / SCI security clearance.

Responsibilities :
- Working with business teams to perform requirements-gathering sessions to develop the scope and design of new and existing content to include dashboards, alerts, reports, and data sources for ingestion
- Monitor team architecture for system stability and perform remediation actions as required
- Perform Splunk Admin tasks to include application maintenance troubleshooting and data ingest
- Provide proficient experience in Linux command line interface
- Work with Splunk administrators to ensure functionality as well as to ensure that team managed resources are patched accordingly to the appropriate schedule
- Utilize Linux knowledge to build upon and be able to work collaboratively with diverse end users and a geographically distributed team
- Duties require familiarity with a Linux environment and a solid foundation in Splunk implementation best practices
- Ensure comprehensive documentation of system configurations and changes
- Maintain servers to include both physical and virtual in support of Splunk infrastructure
- Duties also require the ability to interface with customers to articulate requirements and capabilities of Splunk platform
- Your primary work location will be Fort Bragg NC with travel as required and locations as directed by senior management
Qualifications and Education
Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology Computer Science or equivalent work experience in an IT related fieldDesign and develop solutions to complex applications problems system administration issues or network concernsExcellent verbal and written communication skills for effective interaction with leadershipExperience with configuration toolsKnowledge of virtualization technologiesStrong Linux knowledgePerform systems management and integration functionsCapability to align program objectives with the organization's strategic goalsProficiency in resolving complex problems and adapting to changing circumstancesRequired Skills :
