Join us and do things you never dreamed possible. The Safety, Health & Environmental (SH&E) Supervisor will provide support to both the Savage Handling and Savage Transportation operations. These operations serve our customerMarathonby providing highly skilled expertise in Petroleum Coke cutting, Coke handling, tractor-trailer loadout, specialized equipment maintenance, and dry bulk hauling to a variety of end-users. You will partner with Operations leadership at both sites to implement and execute the SH&E plan and meet site-specific SH&E strategy requirements.

Here is what you will be doing :
Demonstrate the highest commitment to "zero occurrences" by effectively leading the safety, health, and environmental (SH&E) efforts at the operationsWork closely with Operations Managers to implement all safety-related portions of Savage's S7 SystemDevelop and deliver procedural and regulatory training; regularly track and report training completionSupport execution of the customer's operating requirementsEstablish a proactive SH&E process towards incident preventionEnsure all work is performed in compliance with regulatory requirementsEnsure Team Members follow proper safety rules, procedures, and processesEnsure compliance with applicable regulatory bodies, including OSHA, DOT, and EPAInterface with key customer SH&E and operations contacts and assist operations in implementing and executing customer-driven programs or emphasis areasSteward the Lead Safety Specialist and Safety Specialist programs at the sitesEnsure incidents are properly reported to internal and external partiesLead the Savage teams on internal and customer safety auditsSpearhead the Root Cause investigation process to completion and ensure sustainable corrective actions are implemented to avoid repeat eventsSpend significant time in the field with front-line Team Members and observe field activitiesTrack "leading indicators" to address trendsSupport Operations Managers during incidents by responding as neededWhat traits and skills will make this leader successful?
Broad knowledge and understanding of safety, including OSHA, DOT, and Process Safety Management (PSM)Experience in an industrial settingAbility to analyze situations and data to make sound decisionsTraining experience preferredComputer skills (MS Office Suite) a "must"Excellent communication skills, written and oralOrganizational skills and ability to multi-taskExcellent people skillsResponds well to high-pressure situationsRequirements for a Successful Safety Supervisor :
Bachelor's degree in Safety or related field is preferred3+ years' experience working in the petrochemical and / or refining industry and the field of transportationHold a safety certification recognized by an accredited organization or be able to obtain certification within the first 12 months. Examples include CSP, SMS, OHST, or CETMust possess a current Transportation Workers Identification Credential (TWIC card) upon hireCurrent / valid driver's licenseAbility to climb ladders or stairs, walk on uneven surfaces, and work both indoors and outdoors (often in changing weather conditions)Occasional travel may be required
