A Marine Interdiction Agent (MIA) is a critical position within the Air and Marine Operations component, safeguarding America's national borders while facilitating lawful international travel and trade.

The MIA plays a vital role in detecting, preventing, and apprehending threats to national security.

Duties and Responsibilities :

• Perform marine-based law enforcement operations to detect and prevent contraband and illegal activities.
• Monitor behavior patterns and activities of suspect persons, vehicles, or vessels believed to be engaged in illegal activities.
• Interpret radar data to calculate intercepts and track vessels and people to successful interdictions.
• Search persons, vessels, baggage, and cargo for contraband or weapons incidental to detention or arrest.

Candidates must possess a qualifying Merchant Mariner Credential and meet one of the following requirements :
