Job description

Supply Management Specialist

As a Supply Management Specialist, GS-2003-11, you will perform formulate and implement the comprehensive logistics support plans, policies and logistics operations support, based on logistics data and requirements obtained from the Joint Force Headquarters (JFHQ) staff, units, USPFO, NGB and other organizations; develop, coordinate and implement policies, procedures and requirements for unit deployment, inter-service support agreements as approved by the USPFO, emergency support for civil authorities, training exercises support and environmental compliance; obtain data from the Unit Status Report and the Material Readiness Report to determine and improve logistics readiness; develop, staff and implement logistics plans for material fielding, mission support and mobilization. Receives input from the Surface Maintenance Manager (SMM) regarding the Mission Support Plans to support the material fielding plan; serve as the Information Systems / Automation Security Officer, Physical Security Officer and Safety Officer for the directorate, providing technical oversight throughout the shops and activities of the program; update Internal Management Control (IMC) Plan projecting 5 years into future for all DCSLOG / G4 branches or activities.

Requirements :

  • National Guard Membership Is Required
  • This is an excepted service position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the employing state's National Guard, required prior to the effective date of placement.
  • Selectee will be required to wear the military uniform.
  • Acceptance of an excepted service position constitutes concurrence with these requirements as a condition of employment.
  • Applicants who are not currently a member of the National Guard must be eligible for immediate membership and employment in the National Guard in the military grade listed in this announcement.
  • Males born after 31 December 1959 must be registered for Selective Service.
  • Federal employment suitability as determined by a background investigation.
  • Participation in direct deposit is mandatory.
  • You may be required to successfully complete a 1- or 2- year probation / trail period to assess performance, conduct, agency needs, public interest, and efficiency. Employment ends unless certified in writing that it advances the agencies interest.

Qualifications :

Military Grades : Officer (1LT to MAJ) Minimum Requirements : Experience, education, or training which has provided the applicant with a general knowledge of one or more aspects of the supply field. Experience using computer and automation systems. Specialized Experience : Must have at least 36 months experience, education, or training supervising and / or managing supply personnel and a variety of supply functions. Knowledge on the entire inventory management supply system. Experience coordinating with other organizations on complex and controversial supply issues. Experience providing advice and guidance on supply regulations to upper levels of management regarding supply functions. Substitution of Education for Specialized Experience : Successful completion of a full 4-year course of study in any field leading to a bachelor's degree, in an accredited college or university, meets the GS-5 level requirements. You must provide transcripts or other documentation to support your Educational claims. To receive credit for Education, you must provide documentation of proof that you meet the Education requirements for this position.
