Salary : $46,000 - $50,000

The Finance & Accounting Associate provides administrative support to the Finance Department by performing banking activities, deposit reconciliation, processing contributions, and assisting with various other financial and administrative tasks.

Preparing and Processing Contributions

  • Handle remote and cash deposits, lockbox processing, entering and processing ACH and credit card transactions
  • Process and record all online contributions
  • Match all transactions with settlement reports and research missing information for accurate coding, event, and invoice details
  • Approve and post contribution transactions
  • Manage refunds and returned checks for scholarship and grant payments

Administrative Support

  • Provide administrative support to the Finance Department, CEO, and other departments
  • Duties include filing, handling mail, mailing monthly donor statements, processing weekly A / P checks, quarterly admin fees, and assisting with the annual audit.
  • Serve as a backup for Accounts Payable
  • This job description provides a general overview of the positions responsibilities and requirements. The Finance & Accounting Associate will be expected to perform other duties as necessary and assigned by the CFO to ensure the successful operation of the Finance Department.

    Minimum Education : Bachelor's Degree

    Minimum Experience : 1 year but less than 5 years of relevant experience in administrative support or customer service.

    Experience in an accounting or financial work environment preferred.

    Skills Required :

  • Proficiency in computer software (e.g., spreadsheets, financial software)
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to handle sensitive financial information with confidentiality
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in an open office environment
  • Comfortable in a work setting that is open to the community and hosts frequent gatherings
