The South Texas VA Health Care System is excited to announce an exceptional opportunity for two dedicated Staff Physicians to join our Urology team at the Audie L. Murphy VA Medical Center in San Antonio, TX. If you are passionate about providing comprehensive urological care to veterans and seek to advance your career, this position is perfect for you!

Opportunity :

  • Comprehensive Urological Care : Provide top-notch care for conditions including urolithiasis, voiding dysfunction, prostate disorders, erectile dysfunction, and urologic malignancies.
  • Advanced Techniques : Utilize your expertise in robotic surgery and minimally invasive techniques.

    • Benefits :

  • Competitive Salary : $300,000 - $375,000 + Performance Pay up to $15,000
  • Excellent Federal Benefits Package :

    • Federal Employees Retirement System (FERS) : A three-tiered retirement plan that includes :

    Basic Benefit Plan : A defined benefit plan with a pension calculated based on your highest 3 years of salary and years of service.

  • Social Security : Coverage as part of the overall retirement package.
  • Thrift Savings Plan (TSP) : A defined contribution plan similar to a 401(k), with automatic contributions and matching contributions up to 5% of your salary.
  • Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP) Available :

    • EDRP : A program designed to help repay outstanding student loans for eligible individuals.

  • Eligibility : Up to  $40,000 per year for up to 5 years , totaling  $200,000 towards loans TAX FREE .
  • Academic Affiliation with UT Health San Antonio : Potential for a faculty appointment.
  • Minimal Call Coverage : Resident first call, home call shared.
  • Monday-Friday Schedule : 7 : 30 am - 4 : 00 pm.

  • Board Certified / Board Eligible in Urology .
  • Strong Clinical and Surgical Skills .
  • Commitment to Teaching and Mentoring Residents and Medical Students .
  • Excellent Communication and Interpersonal Skills .
