We are looking for a software oriented Field Service Technician with a strong computer software background to join our team and our thriving workplace culture.
Job Summary :
As a Field Service Technician, you will be responsible for installing, service and support material handling automation equipment including dimensioning and weighing systems, automatic barcode scanners, automatic label print and apply systems, conveying equipment, and automation controls at a level which satisfies the high-quality standards of Cubiscan and our customers.
Key Responsibilities :
- Troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve complex hardware and software problems for industrial / commercial equipment
- Analyze mechanical drawings, electrical schematics, network diagrams, and technical documentation for comprehensive diagnostics
- Perform scheduled preventative maintenance and emergency corrective repairs on installed equipment
- Handle inbound service calls and conduct on-site customer visits as a company representative
- Utilize support databases and ticketing systems to track customer issues, resolutions, and service history
- Provide technical training to customers and distributors on equipment operation, preventative maintenance, and basic troubleshooting
- Document all service activities, failure analysis, and resolution steps in detailed service records
- Generate service orders, work orders, and technical reports for management and billing purposes
- Maintain specialized tools, test equipment, and diagnostic hardware
- Assist in the further development of the company's software and hardware service policies and procedures
- Install, configure, and deploy software applications across multiple platforms and user environments
- Troubleshoot software compatibility issues, licensing problems, and application conflicts
- Perform software updates, patches and version upgrades for operating systems and applications
- Provide end-user training on software functionality and best practices
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues with specialized industry software and custom applications
- Travel to customer sites for installation, maintenance, and emergency service calls
- Provide after-hours emergency support as needed
- Other duties and tasks as needed
Education and Experience (Key Requirements) :
Prior electro-mechanical assembly, service and / or electronic / electrical experience preferred.High school degree or higher. Electronic assembly / diagnostics (vocational school, technical college, etc.) is preferred.Computer skills – working knowledge of Microsoft Windows operating systems.Previous Customer Service experience preferredStrong electronic (hardware) and software problem solving and analytical ability.
Ability to read, interpret and understand schematics.Basic mechanical assembly skills and aptitude.Ability to use oscilloscope, meters and other electronic equipment.Strong attention to detail and accuracy.Good customer service and communication skills.Strong eye / hand coordination and dexterity skills.Dependable, adaptable and teachable.Ability to perform multiple tasks while keeping organized, focusing on priorities and being productive.Self-motivated, positive attitude, good interpersonal skills, ability to work independently after training.Professional appearance and personal grooming standards.Hard worker with strong work-ethic, integrity, and planning / organizing abilities.Ability to work with others and manage projects.Professional appearance and conduct.Flexibility to travel for onsite issue resolution.About Cubiscan
