Job Description\n

American Traveler is seeking an experienced Operating Room RN with GA or compact licensure and circulating and scrub experience for a hospital main OR assignment.

\n \n Responsibilities\n

  • Work in the main Operating Room (OR) with adult to geriatric patient populations
  • Specialty cases include General, Neuro, Spine, Orthopedics, Robotics, Urology, Vascular, and Colorectal surgery
  • Circulate and scrub roles are required for the position
  • 16 OR rooms with an average daily census of 35 cases
  • Utilizes Epic charting system, Pyxis, and two Davinci XI surgical robots
  • Day shift (4x10 hours), 10 : 00 to 20 : 30
  • Average of 2-3 weekend shifts per contract period
  • Rare floating to other areas
  • On-call required : 7-8 calls per 8-week period, including 1 weekend call and 1-2 weekend shifts
  • Facility provides required scrub attire
  • Expected to work major holidays if they fall within the contract as per facility policy
  • Maximum of 7 days of requested time off allowed, with no holiday RTO unless three major holidays occur during the assignment
  • All required compliance and onboarding items must be completed within 48 hours of contract signing to ensure on-time start
  • First-time travelers are accepted for this assignment
  • Local candidates are accepted at the same rate
  • Orientation modules must be completed as part of onboarding, with hours factored into orientation
  • Travel pairs are not permitted to be scheduled for the same shift on the same unit
  • No blocked scheduling allowed

  • Active GA or compact RN license in hand at time of consideration
  • Minimum 1 year of recent OR RN experience
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
  • Circulating and scrub experience in the operating room required
  • Experience with adult and geriatric surgical patients
  • Familiarity with Epic EMR preferred
  • Must provide up to two supervisory references from manager-level or higher
  • Must not have been employed as perm / PRN staff at Piedmont facilities within the past year
